More Than a Thrift Store
Hope’s Door Resale Store serves a vital role for survivors who often give up everything to flee for safety. All proceeds generated from your purchases directly fund the free programs and solutions for survivors of domestic abuse offered by Hope’s Door New Beginning Center. Through our Voucher Program, shelter residents use vouchers to get what they need at the Resale Store for no charge. Remaining items are sold to the public.

How Do I Donate Items to the Resale Store?
Donations can be dropped off at our Plano Resale Store Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
(Closed Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday). Donations are accepted at the west facing doors on the side of the building. One of our staff will assist you in starting the donation process.
Please know upon arrival, we ask that you check in using the QR code provided so we can document all of our in-kind donations.

Donation Guidelines
To avoid injury to staff and volunteers, we can only accept donations that meet the
standards listed below.
All clothing must be brought in white/clear trash bags not exceeding 20 lbs.
We cannot accept clothing on hangers, in boxes, or in heavy bags.
Fragile/breakable items may be brought in small boxes.
We cannot accept bags or boxes that contain a mixture of clothing and breakable items.
If you can't lift it, neither can our staff
- Clothing (women, men, and children)
- Shoes
- Accessories (bags, belts, jewelry)
- Luggage
- Books/media
- Decorative household items/accessories
- Full sets of kitchenware (including dishes, glassware, etc.) Furniture (MUST be approved by management prior to the donation)
Unfortunately, we do not accept:
- Clothing on hangers
- Broken, cracked, or otherwise damaged items (especially glass or ceramics)
- Knives, tools, or sharp objects that are not in the sealed original packaging
- Propane, camp stoves, or other flammable materials
- Used/opened toiletries or cosmetics
- Baby cribs, highchairs, strollers, or other items subject to recall
- Mattresses, bed frames, or box springs
- Used undergarments (including underwear, socks, stockings, and tights)
- Used bedding/towels (including blankets, sheets, and pillows)
- Appliances and electronics (including kitchen appliances, televisions, computers, vacuums, etc.)
- Kitchenware or serving pieces that are not part of a full set (including dishes, glassware, mugs, pots and pans, and china)
- Furniture that has not already been reviewed and approved by management.
- Holiday items that are out of season
